Play is the natural language of children, and play therapy empowers children to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors through symbolic play. Play therapy is different than “just playing,” it is a developmentally appropriate approach to healing in the early childhood years. Child-Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT) is a 10 week group therapy course that helps parents learn to connect with their children in new ways that may reduce power struggles, improve connection, and foster a secure attachment between parent and child. This approach may also be modified to work with parents individually or to address specialized concerns.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a therapeutic approach designed to assist individuals in processing traumatic memories through the use of guided bilateral eye movements. This innovative approach facilitates the reframing of experiences, promoting healing and resilience in the presence of anxiety and emotional distress.
Creative processes like painting, music, and movement can be used within the therapeutic process to help clients explore emotions and experiences symbolically. This playful approach encourages self-discovery and healing by tapping into the imagination and reducing cognitive barriers to processing vulnerable experiences.
